Recently I got an old slide viewer with someone’s life works and memories in a box. Derek Cooper was a local man and he had a big love of photography. Every slide was hand cut, made into a slide, archived by number into the box of its matching subject, had the month and year on it and also D.C’s name. The earliest one I found was early 1967 all the way into the early 2000s. What an amazing find, some real interests and ideas have formed from this little bit of first hand research.

I love this older style of technology, analogue technology. everything has to be done manually, leaving traces of ones self on the work, effort and care goes into each change in slide, the extra work that goes into this work just makes me appreciate the final outcome even more. the aesthetic of the images is almost like poetry.
